Mindfulness Meditation & Qi Gong
With Tristan Stark

This training is an invitation to all people interested in developing somatic intelligence and body mind coherence. Four developmental stages: Lying Down, Sitting, Standing, and Movement/Gesture will be investigated and explored experientially.

The cultivation of an inner attunement to personal experience ultimately resonates with the deep state of being that is always here, waiting, in the present moment. Scientific studies have now shown that the body/brain actually coheres into it’s maximum potential while a person is resting in the present moment; the immune system is awakened; the senses perceive more nuance; the inner narrative becomes more deeply organized. In other words a person and their inner and outer world can become more alive by full participation in the experiential moment. This training will offer fundamental practices to explore this within ones own life.

Relaxation with sensation and stability will be taught in the lying down phase. Consciously maintaining attention on breathing and an examination of styles of distraction will be taught in the sitting phase. Observation of full embodiment in the senses will be explored with standing meditation and a possible organic integration in the present moment can emerge with movement and gesture. In addition, basic breathing exercises for connecting to the vital center of the body, sensory awareness and orientation exercises, and developing a resonant attunement to ones being will be fully explored.

The class is two hours long, which can allow for a relaxed pace, and enough time for a rejuvenating well being to emerge. This training could be of interest especially for people who are in care giving roles, or in any lifestyle predisposed to burning out: healers, activists, health care professionals, social workers, teachers, psychotherapists, artists, students, as well as athletes who want to learn more about “the zone” and everybody adventurous in the wellspring of the moment.

Every Sunday, February 17th to March 17th, 2013 - 4 PM to 6 PM
Cost: $20 per class, $80 for the whole training

Non-Duality Yoga
An Expression of Kashmir Tantric Shivaism

With Éric Baret visiting us from France

Touched by the non dual tradition through Jean Klein's teaching, Éric Baret proposes that one turns towards listening free of any notion of gain. Nothing taught, no teacher.

The letting go of images and resistances allows the body to experience its original state of transparency and light, which directly refers to stillness. It is a matter of tuning our instrument to vibrate in harmony with the deep current of life, thereby liberating sensitivity, which unfolds beyond all bounds.

The proposed approach of these seminars enhances the discovery of the psychosomatic restrictions preventing the organism from functioning harmoniously. These blockages will be investigated with the help of non volitional movements and postures (asana) and will be re-integrated into the natural flow of energy through the use of breath free of all restraint (pranayama). This approach which recognizes the body as a breath of the Self belongs to the non dual tradition of Kashmir tantric Shivaism.

In these meetings, free from all traditionalism, the various ramifications of the awakening of the subtle energies are considered, bodily exercise providing the opportunity to free oneself from fear and desire.

Among Éric Baret’s publications : Songs of the Ultimate; Le Yoga tantrique du Cachemire; Les crocodiles ne pensent pas; Corps de vibration, corps de silence.
